Summary:
Stephen King is an author who is known to make readers drown in his work, and also to draw them inside the zone of unfiltered excitation that he creates through his novels. A mysterious catastrophe shuts Maine off the rest of the world; it is separated from the whole world due to a transparent field, and hence all the possibilities of contact with the rest of the country are shattered. This isolation leads to a chaos within the whole community and it is disorder everywhere, and they stumble upon a situation wherein basic needs like water, food and electricity start depleting,and in panic people start getting desperate and restless and the whole community starts to disintegrate. Amidst all the chaos a new way of governance is forming itself and their propaganda seems to be promisingly evil.
Dale Barbara, a local, a marine who served in the Iraq war is perplexed and wants to do something about it, he just cannot let the new and the damaging social complex ruin his life and that of others. In order to save himself and others around him he and few of the others get involved in a struggle to free themselves and others from the tyranny of an impalement due to being driven by greed and malice. The dedicated group of men try to force the corruption out, and make recovery a possibility. They engage themselves in a search for the source of the Dome before it is too late, and find an exit to the other side of the turmoil.
Review:
Stepehen King is a man who has written many awe-inspiring novels and his work of fiction has a tendency to grip all the readers with an intensity that is unrelenting. And to be able to keep users engaged and involved deep within the subject of his story is what he has achieved through his books in the past and this too. Under the Dome is a book that will not allow you to keep it down unless you are done as the varying levels of excitement that it has involves you and keeps you guessing. The plot has an interesting background in an incident, a mysterious happening that has disconnected few from the rest of the world and made them a prisoner of time in a decaying environment.
The different twists that occur now and then in the story makes you realize that you cannot have an upper hand in your anticipations and that the best way to experience it is to let go off on your premonitions and experience the things as they come. It is sure to get you into the space of utter chaos and then set you free with a catharsis of a chapter. The book is well worth of a diligent read and promises you an enterprisingly adventurous reading experience.
