Summary:
Enter the world of Durjoy, and you have a heartbroken guy who cant miss an opportunity to live up to his reputation. This story is different in many ways as it has a lot of stories within, as the guy pours his heart out to a friend in a narrative that will make your sentiments swell. The guy has a tendency to believe that every girl he likes can be his soul-mate, he falls in and out of relationships at a rate that erodes his belief in love, for a better understanding you would hope. Durjoy gets on with his life without stopping to contemplate on his state and keeps falling in the same trap of the drama of life of an instant-Romeo. He hits a wall to come to terms with life that has been moving in circles. His disappointments had to go deeper than the sentiments and he finds himself in a state of vulnerability that makes him open the gates to understanding himself better.
He finds new ways to put his past into perspective, of fast flings, of the one that could have gone the distance, of the one that was mere infatuation to the one that could have been avoided. He puts himself outside his cage of being a victim of love and thinks about the depth of the feelings he had for his ex-girlfriends, and on his own attitude towards the thing called love. The tendency to think highly of all the possibilities of a relationship to be is what had lead him astray but Ohh Yes, I Am Single! And So Is My Girlfriend! tells us the whole story of the guy who had fallen multiple times to know love well or to escape it.
Review:
An easy understanding is hardly fruitful and so is the clauses of a life lead without thinking about the consequence. The life of Durjoy was fast and mindless and was driven at a rate that tore his sensibilities apart. The book is a ride along easy flowing passages of what the author thinks is love and he had to say it the way it is to make the book have the fervor of an ambitious adolescence. The amnesiac duality that is inherent in our mind keeps us rotating in the same place as it de-signifies itself. The author traces back the road his life had tread to collect valuable pieces of insight as he encounters his within after another fall from the grace of love. The exaggerations and the digressions may feed a bone or two to your incorrigible humanity sensors as they wind and unwind perceptions on their own.
The normality that people see in an anomaly is what pushes the author to write excessively about the stuff that seems gullible. The amnesty that the author seeks through his narration in a way cheats its own honesty at times as he divulges in to the inconsequential information that lack feelings and hence have no effect. Ohh Yes, I Am Single! And So Is My Girlfriend! is a book that will push you to have an open mind to infer higher possibilities from this work of fiction that seems to be restricting philosophy.
