Review:
I too had a love story is written by the author whose wounds are yet to heal. The volatility of life is projected deliberately. The book reflects the society which is not bound by the physical and geographical boundaries and can make and develop relationships over distances via various networking-media forms. The author meets his girlfriend on a website and decides to marry her as he figures out that they are meant to be together. But life makes him vulnerable and brings him to his knees as his love story strays from the path of a conventional story with a happy-ending.
I too had a love story tries to take you on a journey full of vicarious emotions, and if you are that kind of a person, then you can let yourself go to see and experience the blood-stained life of Ravin. The book is full of rhetoric usage of the word love, trying to describe his torrid state after being separated with his girlfriend by circumstances. The book could have well been released after another few drafts as it lacks that enriched reading experience, and you can feel that you are going through author's personal diary at times. The story telling doesn't live up to the mark and at times can be tending towards monotony. The story moves in circles as the author uses volumes of pages to describe his loss and turns the whole atmosphere gloomy.
The author in his book abuses broodiness as an expression, though it is what you can relate to if you have suffered a similar kind of loss, defenselessly. The vulnerable disposition of the protagonist sets him apart from the characters of other love stories. I too had a love story is a book for those who enjoy taking a dip in the ocean of emotions. The motif of the book is: the unconditional love that one has for another transcends the boundaries of life and death.
